This is an inserted paragraph.  This post is of a nature that may bother some in that it talks of contitions in these times.  Conditions in the hearts of men and agendas by those in high places where nobody knows what’s going on in the back rooms.  (Daniel 11:27 comes to mind)  I pray that it would not be a source of depression but would cause us all to be  more diligent in striving to reach the lost.  May we keep them in prayer and take full advantage to share with them the good news that Jesus came into the world to save sinners.

II Timothy 3:1-5  “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobediant to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural afection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

In any ponderings of the times, we aften point to the increase in famine, increase in military activity, Israels reemergance as a nation, technological strides to facilitate a beast marking system and geological activity increasing.  (I’m still puzzled by the huge hole in the earths crust under the atlantic Ocean.  It defies many models as to the mechanics of platetechtonics.  Hmm.)  One of the most telling indicators in my mind, however, has to be the prevailing attudes of many.  On any given day, I walk into work and passing the breakroom, CNN will be broadcasting the latest school shooting, grocery store stabbing (last Friday) car chase, story about sixth graders engaging in sexual activity on school buses, and a host of other things that point to a societal breakdown that’s picking up steam.  (Sorry to start the week off with a depressing post)  In the March newsletter, David Meyer makes the following observation:

“People who are at least fifty years old, if they can still think after all the brainwashing they have received, can and should realize that the world is not the one they were born into.  A great transition and metamorphasis has occurred.”

In another telling indication of the times, Cumby placed a list of the television lineup for an average evening on a post entitled “Channel Surfing with the Holy Spirit” to give us an idea of what folks are feeding on these days.  Since programs are designed to attract the greatest number of viewers thereby allowing them to charge higher rates to advertisers, one can only assume that this is a window into the minds of multitudes.  The site is www.cumby.wordpress.com  Look in the right column for the post.

Daily the reports come in.  From the astronaut lady who went nuts and sought to break up a relationship (or whatever) to the host of school shootings; a guy stabbing folks in a grocery store (like last friday) to someone leading police on a several hour chase through heavy traffic and residential neighborhoods, folks seem to be on the brink.  I cant help but think that restraints are being loosened and all is about to break forth in ways that we cannot imagine.   One could explain it with “well there’s more news coverage these days.  These things have always happened but we just didn’t hear about them.”  This sounds like a logical arguement and is porbably accurate to a degree, but we’ve had thourough news coverage for years.  I remember when I was a kid, a family was murdered near Farwell Michigan and it was all over the news.  In those days, such incidents were rare where as today loonitry seems to be an epidemic.

This is a depressing post as these are depressing trends.  I pray that it would cause us all to be about our fathers business like never before as Jesus Christ can make a person free.  Free from the bondage of sin, free from a past filled with pain and abuse, free from the rudiments of a world that’s pursuing the ways of death.  I pray that we would all prayerfully seek the Lords will as to where he would have us to be and increase doing what we know to be doing.

Loonology isn’t restricted to just society.  It extends all the way to the highest places in the land.  As I write this, President Bush is finishing up a tour of Latin America where sediment against the US is growing.  This is the individual who opened my former neo-con mindset to some very present realities; the single most eye-opening being the “no-bid contracts” for Haliburton in Iraq.   When this was reported, I finally had to accept the truth that things arent as they seem on the surface.  It was simply too blatant.  As for the war in Iraq, I truly don’t have an answer to the present debacle.  I pray this; primarily that souls would come into the kingdom of God. Iraqis, Persians, Americans, Kurds, the names that we call ourselves arent important.  Jesus shed his innocent blood for all.

I remember a while back reading a statement by Cumby in which he told about being against the war before it started, however, for different reasons than most.  He was against it because, historically, standing armies don’t fare well against insurgencies.  (that’s not the exact quote and if I’ve misrepresented it please bring it to my attention and I’ll correct it)  Many, including myself at the time, thought that these folks would be so grateful that Saddam was gone that old rivalries and whatnot would disappear while democracy placed another trophy on its mantle.  Well four years later, longer than our involvement in world war II, the situation is anything but stable.  The word “stuck” is all that comes to mind.  If we stay, we lose.  If we pull out, we lose.  If we send more troops, they still wont be able to bring stability.

Another insert.  The paragraph following this one touches on the situation with the US southern border.  “Souls are priceless;” regardless of where their earthly home is and I pray that the discussion will not be taken wrong by any readers.  It’s simply designed to show some inconsistancies in policy.

We are engaged in a war on terror and yet our borders are inadequately protected with no serious attempts to secure them.  To further complicate this, in less than sixty days a pilot program is set to begin which allows Mexican trucks unlimited access to US highways.  Currently they can travel to a depot within twenty miles of the border and leave their cargo.  Here a US trucker picks up the load and takes it to its destination.  Soon, this wont be necessary as the Mexican trucker will be able to go directly to the final destination.  In other words, the guy who runs between the border and Cedar Rapids or Boston will become unemployed and security further compromised.  There are only two explanations for such a policy.

( 1 )  A much bigger agenda is in play which has globalist aspirations.

( 2 ) Blatent incompetence

I suspect both.  (When entering the murky waters of conspiracy theories, one must be ever so careful to separate verifiable truth from wild imagination)  In the History channels series on the dark ages, they told how the Roman empire had generations of inept leadership who were often bought.  Corruption mingled with incompetance is a recipe for disaster; it was then and it is now.  I was wondering to myself as I didn’t see too much of the series.  When the Visigoths were sacking Rome, were there still Roman garrisons along Hadriens wall?  Hmm.

Luke 21:19  “In your patience, possess ye your souls.”

As we see things unfold around us, we may find it bewildering (at least I do) that very few seem to notice.  All that we can do is to pray and do the things that we need to be doing.  I have a peace in my heart that no matter what happens, my heart belongs to Jesus as we have no continuing city here but we seek one to come.  At work, our plant has had it’s ISO9000 certification suspended and is on new business hold from GM.  They have 90 days (I think) to respond to non-conformities.  If not addresed, GM can pull their business, we would no longer be no longer making parts for GM and layoffs would ensue.  I don’t know what will take place but “Jesus really is in control.”  Four years ago, this would have driven me bonkers as I was following from afar.  Today, I’m content.  I really am.  An authentic contentment that stems from a love for the Lord Jesus Christ.

I was at the bathroom sink recently pondering things and the desire to simply be in the Lords will when it was dropped in my heart “it’s going to be painful.”  (could we say “no pain, no gain?”)  I don’t know what tomorrow holds in this world as the chariots of Egypt can lose a wheel without warning.  (Isaiah chapter 31)  But I know that Jesus will never follow from afar and he will never fail any who place their trust in him.  Yesterday, Pastor Bell preached from Mark chapter 1 where Jesus came by Simon and Andrew, and said “Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men”  Likewise he came to James and John who also left the only living that they had ever known. (my old blog site has a post entitled “They straightway forsook their nets.”  I want to eventually place it here as well)  I just realized that this post is a little long.  I’ll close out here; abruptly somewhat, but I’ll leave with this verse.

Psalm 95:17-19  “Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.  When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.  In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.”

  1. I am so very grateful that our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, is faithful concerning us who are bearers of His Name, regardless of the conditions of the world around us. He, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the assurance and anchor of our hope that extends into the Holy of Holies. Blessed be the name of the Lord Jesus Christ forever and ever more!

Blessings in the Lord Jesus Christ!

  2. Timbob, it helps to remember that we were told things would be like this prior to the Lords return. So the events while disturbing, are merely the fulfillment of what we were told to expect.
We pray for repentance, for righteous leaders and decisions to be made, but accept that the Father has a determined plan which will unfold. We rest in trusting Him, and focus not on the outward troubles, but the inward life within us that the world needs to see manifest and then out to the needs around us.
We lift up our eyes to the Harvest and see the fields are ripe, but the laborers are few and pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth laborers; co-laboring with Christ by His grace, in the work of the Kingdom.
And we lift up our heads for our redemption draws near!

No matter what happens, the Lord God is Fatihful!
May we by His grace, get busy about His business, rescuing the souls that are pershing.
    Every blessing to you!
    Susan

  3. Thanks for the mention and the link, timbob.

There is always a mixture of hilarity in even what you term as depressing posts. “Loonology” LOL.

As faithwalk mentioned, we were warned these things were going to happen. It’s the speed of how things are falling apart that surprises some of us. Along with the dread of the future, there is also the exhilaration of knowing that God’s Word is accurate and that all the rest will be fulfilled as well.

I am of the opinion that the Bush administration has sold us out. It’s all about money not national sovereignty or security. America will become part of the U.N. and the E.U. in it’s policies. Remember that George Bush Sr. coined the phrase “New World Order.” I hope I’m wrong about this.

  4. Thanks Phil, Susan, and Cumby for commenting. The last few days there has been a real sense of urgency in my heart as we need to reach out now because things are wrapping up quickly. Thus we find ourselves “betwixt” desiring to be with the Lord, yet knowing many who aren’t ready for that day. As we see events unfold, it seems that an acceleration is taking place. We need to abide in Christ and as you all have mentioned, “know” that the events unfolding before us are a fulfilment of scripture. I think of Psalm 91 which tells how the Lord will keep those who trust in him despite what’s going on in the vicinity. Thanks again for responding. Thanks to all whom I am in contact with in the blogosphere. Blessings in Christ always.

  5. I am firmly convinced that if we stopped spending money on our failed “war on drugs” and invested in the border we would not only cut down on illegal immigration- we would also stop a VERY large portion of the drugs that come into our country through the southern border.
