In Times Like These (Supplemental)

April 19, 2007

John 14:8-9  “Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the father, and it sufficeth us.  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?  he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then Show us the father?”

Acts 4:12  “Neither is their salvation in any other:  for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Philippians 2:9-11  “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:  That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This is an on-the-spot post as when I came out here, I wasn’t even settled on a topic.  The soon to follow links were found at www.stevequayle.com (this is the main page; click on the giant “Q” to find news events) and are representative of a number of reports which he compiles daily.  Reports which will never make the the national news and yet display the direction that events are heading in.  The first account is what led me to place the three passages at the top.

This story is heartbreaking, but not surprising as it represents the times in which we live.   It involves a memorial service at VA Tech in which various speakers were brought forth including a muslim cleric, (he was the first speaker)  a Buddhist community leader, and a host of folks who had “nice words to say.”  Not one person mentioned the name of the Lord Jesus Christ; the only name that really matters.  In a time when the temporal nature of life has become ever so real and folks are searching for answers, the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who paid for our sins with his own blood, died on an old rugged cross, and rose again the third day, was never mentioned.   In a parade of smooth talkers, nobody offered anything which could have led one to salvation.  It’s a classic example of a world that has gone out of its way to remove God from memory.  They don’t mind a mention of “God” as long as it’s kept in a context where everyone can agree, but they stop their ears when the name of Jesus is mentioned.

Perhaps I should start documenting these accounts, but there was recently a navy chaplain who found himself at odds with the authorities because he used the name of Jesus.  In other words, it’s ok to be a muslim chaplain, or a buddhist chaplain.  They even have wiccan chaplains now from what I understand.  It’s also acceptible to have a “form of godliness” christianity, as long as nobody gets offended.  It’s ok to worship the god of forces but dont mention the Lord Jesus who created all that is (Hebrews 1:1-2)  and before whom every person will stand in judgment.  (This has been a thought of ponderance lately; that the day will come in which every one of us will stand before the Lord Jesus.  Sounds basic, but as we put thought into it, it becomes all the more real.)

Without a doubt, the spirit of antichrist is very much active today as there’s a “thinning” if you will and restraints long in place are being lifted.  As christians, we’re warned of such times as to not be caught off guard.  The next link is an article written by a lady named Constance Cumbey.  (not “cumby” as in the brother who used to blog)

This article tells of things taking place under the radar which are designed to bring about a “global” constitution.   I remember a few years ago when a United European government was proposed and was rejected by voters in every country where it came up.  There is likewise similar attitudes in this country and as a result, more subversive measures must be taken.  The author of this article also has a blog.

www.cumbey.blogspot.com   This blog seems to feature ongoing reports concerning one named Javier Solana.  This is a name which I have never heard before, but a brief scan of this sight suggests that this is a very powerful “behind the scenes” individual.

One might ask why I bring these things up.  The reason is because many of us are asleep to one degree or another.   The real events; the real behind-the-scenes dealings which are designed to make the world a far different place than the one we grew up in, will never make the mainstream news.  Next week, the media will have a great opportunity to cover an event that’s designed to bring attention to the demise of our sovereignty.

Next week, on April 23-25, truckers are going to descend on Washington DC and various state capitols to protest the opening of our border to Mexican truckers.  Amazingly, this story receives almost no coverage, other than by Lou Dobbs.  The truckers protests are certain to draw attention and I wonder just how much media coverage there will be.   We’ll see next week; barring any other earth-shattering events such as another celebrity entering rehab or shaving their head.  (That’s sarchasm)

Well I need to go.  I apolagize for the negative sounding tone, but it’s difficult to sound positive when telling of how the name of Jesus Christ is being removed from the national conscience or how the globalist agenda is proceeding while the world and the church is slumbering.  Scripture is coming to pass before our eyes.  Indeed, the darkest hour is before dawn, and the dawn is soon to be here.  Therefore, I’ll close with some passages that should cause every saint to shout it from the housetops.

Matthew 24:29-31  “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken:  And then shall appear the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

I Thessalonians 4:16-17  “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I Thessalonians 4:18  “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”

If this doesn’t do it, just read Revelations chapters 21 and 22.

  1. timbob:

check out fulfilledprophecy.com to learn about all there is to know about Solana.

  2. Thanks treesy. I’ve linked to this in the “end times sites” page. A lot of information on this site.

    Blessings always.

  3. timbob, when all is said and done, just how good is it that our nation would continue to appear to be what it is in spirit and truth no longer? Far better for us to see the truth of who we are than to continue to be deluded into believing the lie of our remaining a “Christian Nation”.

Maybe, just maybe the Church will then wake up, see with eyes that truly see and hear with ears that genuinely hear, the truth and then humble ourselves, pray and seek the Lord Jesus Christ with all of our hearts, that our precious Lord and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ might then hear and have mercy upon us all.

While it is disturbing and yes, it even hurts for us to see the truth, we must see our nation as it is and as it is becoming more and more, as a post Christian culture and nation.

It is only in this revelation of the truth that we will and can respond righteously. It is here and now that we have the opportunity to begin the rise to become, in spirit and truth, the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

May we, in spirit and truth, awaken, arise and go forth in the power and wisdom of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Every Blessing in the Lord Jesus Christ! Yes, every blessing in He who is our only true and lasting hope!

  4. Please…The Navy chaplain you mentioned was drummed out of the Navy for not obeying a lawful order…a distinctly un-Christian and un-Biblical action. Military chaplains are free to pray according to their denomination or faith-group…period!

And the Military does not have Wiccan chaplains. They may be present in the future but for the moment Wiccans do not meet the educational standards of the military chaplaincy. Americans must understand that one of the incredible aspects of our American military is that chaplains provide religious assistance to any military member who asks for it. Chaplains do not perform religious rites for those with whom they theologically disagree, but they support the military person’s right to “freely exercise” his or her faith. Whether Wiccans, or Mormons, or Muslims, Christians, Jews, Buddhists …the American military way is to provide for their religious needs. But when a chapain preaches, teaches, counsels , marries or buries…he or she is free to proclaim his/her beliefs boldly.

  5. Greetings Phil. Indeed it is needful to realize the spiritual condition of the nation as it fits into the scriptural picture of condition in the last days. This is why I highlight such things; in hopes that others will awaken to the fact that things arent as they were twenty years ago. I don’t expect the nation to change as it’s following a path taken by many nations in the past, notably the Western Roman Empire. I pray that the saints will truly awaken, place their complete faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and have no confidence in the flesh. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Have a grat day in Christ.

  6. Greetings Del. Thanks for stopping by. I perceive that you are more informed about the situation than I am concerning the navy chaplain. I have to admit that the comment stems from various reports. I should document things better, but I remember a proposal to allow wiccans and various other “out there” (or maybe not so out there these days) groups to be represented by the chaplain corp. (I thought that it had already taken place, but perhaps it hasn’t)
As for the chaplain who was removed, my understanding is that he was “ordered” not to use the name of Jesus. While I heard this from various sources, I’m not close enough to the situation to know for sure. It wouldn’t surpirse me though. I don’t ever remember, offhand any of our chaplains using the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. They would use “God” as president Bush did in VA Tech, but the name of Jesus was, to the best of my memory, not used by them.
I vividly remember a Church of God chaplain who visited our church in Virginia, and he very much “did” use the name of Jesus Christ, the only name whereby men must be saved. (He was awesome and I wished to myself that he was on our ship.) Thanks for stopping by. The comment concerning the chaplain was more of an afterthought as i was going through this post, but Im planning to look into it more in-depth. Please let me know if you have a blog site anywhere.

    Blessings in Christ.

  7. Greetings Tim, in Jesus precious name!
Phil pretty much summed it up so there’s not much I can add other than to say in the vision I was given there was very much the sense we had passed the tipping point as a nation and there was little if any chance of turning back.
What I heard was that things had been set in motion that would not stop until the appointied time, and what had been determined was fulfilled.
So all we can do is fall upon the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and be about the Fathers business being salt and light in a darkening world.

    Blessings to you always timbob!
