Sleepless in Constantine

June 8, 2007

This is the morning of June 8,2007.  The bulk of this post was written last night, however I was hesitant to publish it because it’s very choppy and consists of ponderings which all seem to come together in a chaotic fashion.  Yet I know that I should have, so here it is below.

—————————————————–

John 3:8  “The wind bloweth where it listeth and thou heareth the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”

Wind is a fascinating thing.  We can’t see it nor can we grab  onto it.  Yet we can feel it and observe the effect that it has on the surroundings.  I bring this up because today has been a blustery day and tonight is a blustery night.  This is a very spontaneous and rambling post so I have no idea as to where it’ll end up.  Normally I would be at work right now, but took another night off because of some lingering effects from the dental work performed on Tuesday.

Today a number of ponderings took place.  Earlier, while tending to the goats, I noticed that a lot of little twigs with batches of leaves on them had been blown to the ground.  This had also been the case when returning from Kalamazoo earlier this morning.  A strong wind will remove anything that isn’t secure and as a result only the steadfast will remain.  I was also thinking on the many biblical instances where wind was an analogy.  The most well known took place on the day of Pentecost when there came a sound from heaven as of a mighty rushing wind and the 120 were all filled with the Holy Ghost and spake in other tongues.  In Revelation 7:1 we see the angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds, so that it would not blow on any part of the earth.   I’m not sure what this implies although I wonder if it concerns the time when the Spirit of the Lord will no longer work in the hearts of the earths inhabitants.

Wind is often associated with the working of the Holy Spirit and tonight the ponderings of the day took on another aspect.  Around 1:00am as everyone was snoozing I went out for a time of prayer under the stars.  The wind is still blowing; harder than it was today and the sky was partly cloudy.  In the west,  there was lightening, indicating that a storm is approaching.  This is when it hit me.  The words of so many in recent weeks; that we’re in the season when a final outpouring of the Holy Spirit will take place with judgment just over the horizon.  One only has to look at the situation in the U.S. “objectively” and know that we’re in a tailspin.  The dismantling of the middle class, our troops spread out across the globe, the need to borrow three billion dollars per day to keep the ball rolling, an open border which means we have “absolutely no idea” of who is amongst us, ( or what they brought in with them) the disintigration of the family,  the tamperings with genetics and the perfection of the technology that will be used to mark every person on the face of the earth.

I had an awesome time in the Lord while outside, and yet with it came the realization, all the more, of just how late the hour is.  Of just how quickly the party will, end for “Pax America” while her citizens are mesmorized by the latest offerings from Hollywood.  Still, I know that the Lord will take care of his own.  Just as he sustained Elijah under the most contrary of circumstances, he will take care of those who truly love him.  There’s been a kind of strange thought on my mind lately and I don’t think the significance can even be placed into words but here’s a try.  In the last post, the concept of “reallignments” came up.  Of the saints and the tares parting company and the moment when the season for decision making is over.  This age is coming to its conclusion and multitudes are camped out in the valley of decision; more concerned about Paris Hilton than about their eternal destiny.

Not too long ago, I had a dream concerning a fellowship of saints.  It was during a time of great upheaval and we were gathered in a garage, as it were, in Three rivers.  One of the most notable things was that I didn’t know any of these saints from any pervious interractions.  In the days to come, we’ll find out who is real and who is going through the motions.  This should cause us all to search and research our hearts.

I need to close before I damage the blog beyond repair.  I’m not certain as to why all of this is on my heart to the point of placing it into paragraphs (choppy ones at that) but here it is.  I wish all a blessed day in the lord Jesus.

That was last night.  This morning, I found a posting on Phils site.  Not only does the most recent post need visiting but also the many links that he has included.  I ask any who stop by here to please consider what’s coming to pass.  I truly, in my heart of hearts, don’t expect a presidential election to take place in 2008.  This is not a “Thus saith the Lord” but it’s a definate feeling in my spirit that all of the hoopla over the political machinery is for naught.  (Not to mention a whole lot of other hoopla)  The processes in play at this moment are so far beyond the physical realm that most; even most christians, fail to grasp the scope thereof.  I need to go.  Please check out the links as they are all much more informative than my middle-of-the-night ramblings.

www.faithwalk.wordpress.com/2007/06/07/program-interruptions/    Somehow, I overlooked this; even though I go to this site daily.  Yet I know that it’s good and I’m heading that way right after finishing here.

www.pasturescott.org/2007/06/05/the-least-of-these/  I just learned of this site through a comment by Marie over at “Christ formed.”  This is a must read!  One cannot read this and wonder just how this country appears in the eyes of God.  A nation that consumes and then consumes some more.

www.theovercomer.org  I found this site about three years ago and it just came back into rememberance.  It has a ton of information and links.  (Note: this site is NOT affiliated with R.G. Stair.  This clarification is needful because he has a site with a similar title.)

  1. Timbob, thanks for the link and for keeping up the focus of our need to get ready, stay ready and trust the wind of the Holy Spirit as He is moving.

Hmmm, no elections? Wow, and yet, hmmm, again.

Lord Jesus have your way and yours alone, in, to and through each and every one of us, for your greater glory, honor and praise.

Every Blessing in the Lord Jesus Christ!

  2. P.S. Love the picture in your header. It is awesome, really!

  3. It’s good to get your thoughts choppy – y’know that is just because it’s how it is! We see in part, we know in part.

    Blessings

    Peter

PS Like the picture too! Though about stealing it 🙂

  4. Timbob, I didn’t think this was choppy at all! I really like your idea of going outside in the middle of the night to enjoy the LORD. I think I will invite my husband to do just that with me tonight. What an awesome date that will make as we worship the LORD together under the stars – I hope – it’s raining right now, PRAISE YOU LORD! (We are in severe drought here in Georgia.

Thank you for the link to my pastor’s sight. I know he will appreciate it very much!

Gotta go , it’s thundering and lightening!!!

  5. Timbob, wow, we have been tracking on parallel paths so often. It has been windy here of late, I’ve gone out in the woods to walk and listen and hear what the Lord is saying in and through the wind…
I’ve often thought we may not have an election and this was particularly strong after the last dream
I could write and entire post on the subject but lets just say if things go down this summer in the manner some of us are sensing, it’s highly unlikely any election will take place.
But our hope is as always in our precious Lord who is forever faithful and true.
May His will be done, on the earth and in our lives, as it is in heaven!

    Blessings to you always Tim!

oh, by the way- it didn’t seem choppy to me and as Peter said, we only see in part. I think we may all be surprised in some ways at just how this all plays out…
    hmm…. so many thoughts!

  6. Timbob, I’ve thinking about my comment, it may be a bit over the top, maybe not, but still I should pray more before thinking out loud when it’s still unclear. Sorry about that.
As for the timing, it has seemed near for some time now, but somehow more so lately. Enough waffling.
May everyone have a wonderful and joyful weekend in the Lord Jesus Christ!

  7. greetings Phil. The still small voice amidst the winds of change. I so love the story of Elijah when he was in the cave fleeing from jhezebel. he hears past all of the static and is atuned to the still small voice. With all of the noise today, it’s all the more imperative to be like-minded.

As for the elections, it really seems that things are on such a pace that would interrupt the chronology of events to this level. I could be wrong as I have to daily cast down an imagination that leans toward sensationalism. Yet in my heart, I doubt that they will transpire. Praise God that our peace doesn’t depend upon the smooth sailing of the status quo but upon the Lord Jesus who has promised to be with us always.

have a blessed evening in Christ.

  8. Greetings Peter. Indeed we see in part and yet always desiring a more complete understanding. I ponder these things a lot. Thanks for leaving a reply and also for proclaiming truth always at your site.

Have a blessed evening in Christ.

  9. Greetings marie. I pray that tonight will be a real blessing. There’s something about a night sky that one just thinks of how great the Lord is; from everlasting, to everlasting, and in whom is no variance or turning. Thank you so much for linking to your pastors site. The current post is really one to think about and I look forward to visiting in the future.

Have a most blessed evening in Christ.

  10. Greetings Susan. I know what you mean by “it has seemed near for some time now, but somehow more so lately.” In times past there was always “wiggle room” concerning these events. Now it seems as though there’s no way for the present path to sustain itself. Just a casual observation of the moves to electronic currency and a national ID should reveal that, sooner or later, they will want everyone to “take a number” instead of just carry one around.

Things are coming together so fast and while many may find such thoughts troubling, I really have peace. My concern is to not be sidetracked in any way while striving to reach the lost and wake up the saved.

I really pray that I can meet you and Richard sometime in this realm. Perhaps we will all be in one place when it all goes south. I know that whatever takes place the Lord Jesus will be with us; even if we have to stand alone. Yet I would really welcome such fellowship. Thanks so much for commenting.

Have a blessed evening in Christ.
