This is the morning of June 8,2007. The bulk of this post was written last night, however I was hesitant to publish it because it’s very choppy and consists of ponderings which all seem to come together in a chaotic fashion. Yet I know that I should have, so here it is below.
John 3:8 “The wind bloweth where it listeth and thou heareth the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.”
Wind is a fascinating thing. We can’t see it nor can we grab onto it. Yet we can feel it and observe the effect that it has on the surroundings. I bring this up because today has been a blustery day and tonight is a blustery night. This is a very spontaneous and rambling post so I have no idea as to where it’ll end up. Normally I would be at work right now, but took another night off because of some lingering effects from the dental work performed on Tuesday.
Today a number of ponderings took place. Earlier, while tending to the goats, I noticed that a lot of little twigs with batches of leaves on them had been blown to the ground. This had also been the case when returning from Kalamazoo earlier this morning. A strong wind will remove anything that isn’t secure and as a result only the steadfast will remain. I was also thinking on the many biblical instances where wind was an analogy. The most well known took place on the day of Pentecost when there came a sound from heaven as of a mighty rushing wind and the 120 were all filled with the Holy Ghost and spake in other tongues. In Revelation 7:1 we see the angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds, so that it would not blow on any part of the earth. I’m not sure what this implies although I wonder if it concerns the time when the Spirit of the Lord will no longer work in the hearts of the earths inhabitants.
Wind is often associated with the working of the Holy Spirit and tonight the ponderings of the day took on another aspect. Around 1:00am as everyone was snoozing I went out for a time of prayer under the stars. The wind is still blowing; harder than it was today and the sky was partly cloudy. In the west, there was lightening, indicating that a storm is approaching. This is when it hit me. The words of so many in recent weeks; that we’re in the season when a final outpouring of the Holy Spirit will take place with judgment just over the horizon. One only has to look at the situation in the U.S. “objectively” and know that we’re in a tailspin. The dismantling of the middle class, our troops spread out across the globe, the need to borrow three billion dollars per day to keep the ball rolling, an open border which means we have “absolutely no idea” of who is amongst us, ( or what they brought in with them) the disintigration of the family, the tamperings with genetics and the perfection of the technology that will be used to mark every person on the face of the earth.
I had an awesome time in the Lord while outside, and yet with it came the realization, all the more, of just how late the hour is. Of just how quickly the party will, end for “Pax America” while her citizens are mesmorized by the latest offerings from Hollywood. Still, I know that the Lord will take care of his own. Just as he sustained Elijah under the most contrary of circumstances, he will take care of those who truly love him. There’s been a kind of strange thought on my mind lately and I don’t think the significance can even be placed into words but here’s a try. In the last post, the concept of “reallignments” came up. Of the saints and the tares parting company and the moment when the season for decision making is over. This age is coming to its conclusion and multitudes are camped out in the valley of decision; more concerned about Paris Hilton than about their eternal destiny.
Not too long ago, I had a dream concerning a fellowship of saints. It was during a time of great upheaval and we were gathered in a garage, as it were, in Three rivers. One of the most notable things was that I didn’t know any of these saints from any pervious interractions. In the days to come, we’ll find out who is real and who is going through the motions. This should cause us all to search and research our hearts.
I need to close before I damage the blog beyond repair. I’m not certain as to why all of this is on my heart to the point of placing it into paragraphs (choppy ones at that) but here it is. I wish all a blessed day in the lord Jesus.
That was last night. This morning, I found a posting on Phils site. Not only does the most recent post need visiting but also the many links that he has included. I ask any who stop by here to please consider what’s coming to pass. I truly, in my heart of hearts, don’t expect a presidential election to take place in 2008. This is not a “Thus saith the Lord” but it’s a definate feeling in my spirit that all of the hoopla over the political machinery is for naught. (Not to mention a whole lot of other hoopla) The processes in play at this moment are so far beyond the physical realm that most; even most christians, fail to grasp the scope thereof. I need to go. Please check out the links as they are all much more informative than my middle-of-the-night ramblings.
www.faithwalk.wordpress.com/2007/06/07/program-interruptions/ Somehow, I overlooked this; even though I go to this site daily. Yet I know that it’s good and I’m heading that way right after finishing here.
www.pasturescott.org/2007/06/05/the-least-of-these/ I just learned of this site through a comment by Marie over at “Christ formed.” This is a must read! One cannot read this and wonder just how this country appears in the eyes of God. A nation that consumes and then consumes some more.
www.theovercomer.org I found this site about three years ago and it just came back into rememberance. It has a ton of information and links. (Note: this site is NOT affiliated with R.G. Stair. This clarification is needful because he has a site with a similar title.)
