The title of this months Last trumpet Newsletter hits on truth that’s been on my heart for quite a while; that being the final separation in the last days. The season in which the wheat shall be separated from the tares, the sheep from the goats, the saints from the aints, (I really do not like using improper words; even when they rhyme) and what have you. This profound line of demarcation will run through communities; dividing neighbors, coworkers, congregations, households and every form of gathering under the sun. The time is soon approaching when anyone who is not fully in Christ will be manifest by their intense opposition to the remnant saints. `The remnant saints will likewise become more manifest as they have abandoned all that is in the world and have their affections firmly upon Jesus. The following is the customary monthly link to the newsletter, followed by a very timely excerpt from its author, David Meyer:

“As I watch and pray fervently according to the instructions of our saviour, I see that something very amazing is happening. It is an unmistakable truth that can only be clearly seen by true and discerning Christians everywhere. I am referring to the fact that the separation of the small but powerful true remnant of the Almighty God from the multitudes of deceived antichrist population is becoming more pronounced as we near the end of the world. The people of the Almighty God are getting more and more like the place they are going to. They are sick of this world and are vexed by its corruption. A new heavens and a new earth occupy the minds of the little flock in the last days, and eternal glory with Jesus remains the hope of their hearts.”
Sorry to interrupt, but this is profound. We should be finding ourselves increasingly uncomfortable with this worlds system as it goes the way prophecied in scripture. The more our affections are on Jesus, the less we’ll find the trappings of this world appealing. The whole world lies in wickedness as it is preparing to follow after one who will deceive all who love not the truth but have pleasure in unrighteousness. Pastor Meyers continues:
“We also know that those who are surrendered to satans will are getting more and more like the place they are going to, and hells society now predominates the earth. People are preparing themselves for an eternith of damnation, and the forces of hell draw near to meet them. The primary question that arises to all who are reading this newsletter is this: which way are you going? It is an urgent matter, for time is about to expire. All salvation happens in the realm of time, not in eternity. You can call upon the Saviour right now, and then follow through with obediance to the gospel and a full and true conversion. hell is no doubt full of people who would give anything to have the opportunity that you have right now.”
There are many widely recognized pitfalls that the end times saints must be aware of. Chritian sounding doctrines with just enough error to lead the undiscerning astray, supernatural fireworks from the enemy that are designed to obscure the authentic, false christs, false prophets, and prevailing conditions in the ambience that are so horriffic that even the most spiritually prepared are astonished at the intensity therein. (Just a note; after receiving the vision featuring the king of fierce countenance, Daniel “fainted, and was sick certain days.” We should not take lightly, issues concerning the time of the end.) We know that the world will wonder after a beast and multitudes will seal their eternal destination by receiving a mark in order to sustain their lives for a short season.
But one of the most dangerous situations; one that’s likely to try our faith more than all of the other transpiring chaos, will be in the area of those people who are closest to us. As the hour of temptation swings into high gear and restrictions are rolled away, anyone who is even the slightest “less than persuaded” will develop a hatred toward us to the point of desiring and/or bringing about our physical demise. This group may include parents, children, aunts, uncles, close frineds from the days on our youth, neighbors, pastors, brethren who beforetime appeared steadfast in the faith, and what have you. Currently, we may have a number of acquaintances who are not in Christ, but are, nonetheless, people with whom we have a solid relationship. We love them with the love of Christ, associate with them at regular intervals, continually plant seeds, seek opportunities to give instruction on issues of the soul, and keep them in fervent prayer. We’re really careful that we don’t unwittingly cause scattering as a soul is hanging in the balance. These reationships will eventually fail, unless the other person comes to Jesus in sincere faith and repentance.
There’s a tendancy for our considerations of end times events to be filtered in one of two ways; both of which are hazardous. The first is to compartmentalize them; keeping them safely locked up within the realm of theology without actually believing that they could one day witness such happenings. This keeps a person from actually preparing spiritually for such times. The other danger is that of adapting a romantic view of these events; watching them unfold but somehow not understanding the dangers asssociated therein. This leads to grandiose proclamations of faith without considering what that proclamation entails. (Similar to Peters emphatic declaration that he would never deny the Lord Jesus) The following passages should dissolve both of these tendancies.
Matthew 10:34-36 “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
And a mans foes shall be they of his own household.”
Mark 3:12-13 “Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
And ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
Natural affection will cease to be a restraining force. The above passages reveal that we should expect to be hated of all who are not born of the Spirit; even those in our own household. It’s “beyond heartbreaking” to witness loved ones reject Jesus and fall for the prevailing delusions, with no regard for their soul. This is something that I’m mindful of daily as ours is a divided household. I love my wife and children more than words can express, however, they don’t see the urgency of the matter concerning their souls and “time is running out.” The thought of any in this family going into eternity without Jesus is unbearable; and yet, agonizing as it is to contemplate, this is a very present danger. How imperative it is to be sober-minded and vigilant. To pray fervently for their salvation and be a faithful ambassador in this venue where eternal souls are in jeopardy. Words cannot adequately express the gravity of this issue (This is not an easy post)
There’s one more venue that’s needful of discussion before closing. Most are familiar with the parable of the wheat and the tares, so for the sake of time, I’ll type out the last verse as it pertains to the discussion:
Matthew 13:30 “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.”
The separation between the true remnant saints and the almost persuadeds. This is line of dividing is certain to surprise all of us when it is made manifest. A few years ago, a preacher on shortwave was discussing the attributes of natural tares. They look exactly like the wheat. They spring up at the same time, and they produce a spike at the same time. The only difference between the two is that a tare does not produce a kernal.  It looks authentic on the outside, but there is no fruit to perfection. Sadly, we may witness supposed pillars of our faith fall in the time of temptation. Richard Wurmbrand once stated words to the effect that “everyones a potential traitor during times of persecution.” He mentioned how the person who composed one of the greatest Romanian hymns later on composed one of the most famous communist songs .  Each of us must ensure that we are trusting completely in Jesus and not trusting in the discernment of a pastor, an elder, or simply someone whom we consider to be really spiritual.
Well, I’m going to close for now. My desire is not to cause apprehension. I know that this isn’t a pleasant topic. But it should cause us to draw closer to Jesus and understand that we must abide in him continually. We should not be fearful, but we should be sober and watching always.
Blessings always in Jesus name.
Matthew 16:25 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
Daniel 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

  1. Timbob,

There was a day when it would have seemed impossible that we would ever witness some of the things we are seeing in our nation. The flaunting of wickedness and despising of righteousness, or the prevalent apathy to these things in the church. For some time I have felt the same things that you are writing – that the time of the end is very near and we must be watchful and keep ourselves in the love of Jesus. The times are too serious to allow our hearts to grow cold for a moment. May He help us all endure to the end.

  2. Hi Irene. There’s something incredible that I don’t quite know how to elaborate on without sounding strange. The Lord is drawing us closer to him as the end of the age makes its approach. As you mention, we must be ever so cautious to not allow drifting. At the same time, this holy “drawing” is incredible in a way that defies explanation. It’s like the Lord is granting a greater hunger and desire to let go of the frivilous things and draw closer to him. This drawing is so incredible that it drives out any fear that would rattle us. It causes us to set our sights firmly upon Jesus and on the world to come.

Thanks so much for stopping by. It’s always good to hear from saints who understand the times that we’re in. Blessings always in Jesus name.

  3. Greeting timbob-

I have been considering the ‘radical devotion’ that Christ expects from His followers.

Your scripture reference to Matt.10, was Jesus giving His 12 disciples instructions as to this ‘radical devotion’ that they must have to Him… “that they would be willing to hate those of their own house, even themselves.” Pretty radical, eh?

Again in Luke 14 He gave the same admonition to the multitude that were following Him… if a man come to Christ and hate not his father, mother, wife children, brethren and sister. Such devotion, such commitment has but one object… and that the Christ.

Your article is spot on, in that this division in these last days shall be those of a man’s own household.

I am thinking that division will manifest itself in America with a persecution against the body of Christ as it is in many parts of the world, and that persecution from those of a man’s own house.

This post is filled with words that are hard to hear… he who hath ears to hear, let him hear what the spirit saith.

    Peace timbob

  4. The falling away has already occurred, the man of sin, the son of perdition, the antichristos has been revealed. They have already taken the mark for the beast on their hand or their foreheads. The day of Christ is at hand! This is a generation of judgment.

God does have a people, already called out. “Come ye out of her my people, lest ye be partakers of her plagues.”

  5. Hi Bro Malachi. This radical devotion to Jesus that you have been contemplating is essential. Anything less is a recipe for disaster. I think of the man who told Jesus “I will follow you but first let me go and bury my father.” These are indeed difficult things to contemplate, but they are essential. Those in my household who show no evidence of salvation present a heartbreaking situation. Yet we cannot allow anything to take our eyes off Jesus.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Blessings always in Jesus name.

  6. Hi Habasar. Thanks for taking time to stop in and offer your thoughts. I would agree in part that the great falling away has largely occurred already. While I think it’s still ongoing, I’m also convinced that it’s closer to its completion than most believe. (A majority of folks still talk of the occurrance in future tense) As for the man of sin, I know of a number of candidates who seem to fit the mold. A brother here named CR is convinced that Mr Obama is the guy. I’m not convinced of this, but time will tell.

This is a very serious issue. As such, until I know in my heart of hearts that a given one is indeed the son of perdition, I prefer to not place names in that position. (although I ponder much.)

Thanks again for your input. May the Lord grant discernment and clarity to us all and a heart that’s steadfastly on Jesus. Blessings always in Jesus name.

  7. 🙂 Thanks for the plug.

I read everything that you write, here. I appreciate your work.

  8. Hi Nonaeroterraqueous (I always have to spell that out carefully) Thank you for stopping in. The link to your post “Theresurrectionist” was imperative and I’m still pondering why we simply stop praying for a person as soon as they are pronounced deceased. Especially if the persons salvation was questionable. That post has brought forth some serious ponderings as we know that Jesus raises the dead.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

  9. Timbob, I speak with great clarity. For it is needed in the generation of judgment. The falling away has already occurred, not for the most part. And the antichristos has been revealed. It is he who is most contrary to the very words of Yeshua, “a prophet is not without honor except in his homeland’. It is this false prophet who is honored above all in his homeland. “I hate the deeds of those who follow Billy Graham” says Yeshua.
