It can seem almost intimidating at times to bring forth items which appear to suggest that the end of the age is upon us.  Such pondering has been in play for hundreds of years with each reflection upon the contemporary setting seemingly indesputable. As a result, the majority of warnings about a looming apocalypse tend to not be taken seriously by many. Even many saints take a lighter approach to such considerations.  Many would prefer to focus on topics which are easy on the flesh such as “becoming a better you” and “accumulating stuff while equating it with godliness.” But these are times unlike any other and whereas indicators of the final days used to appear at seemingly rare intervals, they now seem to transpire almost daily. Every event, every rumor and senario is significant as the end of the age approaches and the return of Jesus draws ever closer. It is a time for watching, praying, and loving not our position in this temporal world.
This post contains links to some items of significance, but there has been one almost overwhelming thing on my heart as of late. That is to shut out the excess rhetoric and seek the Lord Jesus. Such reports as the ones linked to below, are like mile-markers along an interstate highway. They give us a rough idea of where we are on the prophetic timeline. They should cause us to strive, all the more fervently, to be in the continual presence of, and perfect will of, the Lord Jesus for the moments remaining; regardlss of the fallout in the physical realm. Indeed those in our household and neighborhood may think that we’re nutty while many (if not most)  in our local fellowships may think that we’re “obsessed with doom and gloom.” We need to cast all of this aside and “hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” The true church, those who are watching and keeping their garments, have let go of the sideshow issues and are looking steadfastly unto Jesus. Here’s the links mentioned above; most of which I found on STEVE QUAYLE’S site, beginning with:
UNDER THE ALL-SEEING EYE THE ILLUMINATI DEALS (Hawk) This discusses some of the fallout from the meeting in Moscow between Mr obama and Pres. Medvedev. No such meeting is insignificant in these times and Hawk goes into detail on issues that won’t be discussed on CNN.
DEATH BY AMUSEMENT  (Dave Daubenmire) This article discusses how our society has become obsessed with being entertained to the point that many can no longer think for themselves. (Caution: Dave makes some observations about Michael Jackson that some may fine troubling. The circumstances leading to Michaels untimely demise are a tragedy and today a soul is in eternity.)
POPE ENDORSES WORLD POLITICAL AUTHORITY (Cliff Kincaid) This may not sound surprising, but the timing is significant. We know that Mr. Obama is to meet with the pope on Friday. We also know that the real goings on in power are generally not forthcoming. The photos and sound bytes, which are carefully crafted to have a desired effect, do not offer an accurate picture of the event. PRAY MUCH.
Daniel 11:27 “And both of these kings hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.”
THE PROPHECY OF THE POPES BY SAINT MALACHI and THE 72nd DAY This is a long read, but contains a lot of insight for one who has patience. With the ongoing rhetoric over the past year concerning evidence that the man of sin may be revealed in July of 2009, this becomes all the more notable. Whether or not such a revelation is forthcoming this month is not clear, but we know that events are moving forward at an ever accelerating pace. (It would seem that Mr Obamas snide remark about completing his second span of one hundred days in only seventy two days and then resting, is as thought provoking as it is arrogant.)
One thing of note concerning bible prophecy. Those things which have not yet occurred, will transpire at the appropriate time. They may not match the images that we have assigned to them based on our limited perceptions, but the word of God will come to pass; regardless of our theologies and debatings. (One can only imagine how much different our perceptions would be if John had been permitted to record what the seven thunders uttered.) As such, there is absolutely no subsitiute for being close to Jesus, abiding in his word, and hearing from on high. These are days of unprecidented deception.
PREPARING FOR CIVIL UNREST  (Claire Wolfe) As the status quo unravels, those who depend upon the infrastructure are certain to react in unpredictable ways. This article has some common sense guidelines for such times, however, there’s no substitute for abiding close to Jesus. He alone is our strong tower in times of trying. One more link:
SCOTTISH WARRIORS  (Frank McEleny) If one is curious about the makeup of the remnant church and about what will be required of those who profess the name of Jesus in the times approaching, this is a site to visit on a regular basis. Franks posts always challenge us to examine our current spiritual state while encouraging us to get in close to Jesus. Well, it’s about time to close this up. This weekend, after much urging by Mrs timbob, we are having a garage sale. This is the first time that I’ve ever done something like this and I’m kind of hoping that it’s a one time thing. (lol) Nonetheless, I have made several tables and thoroughly cleaned the garage. I am looking forward to it for one reason. there will be souls here who need Jesus. I’ve also constructed a stand for tracts along with copies of the Last trumpet Newsletter and I’m praying for a door of utterance. Time is running out and the only thing in this world that’s eternal is the priceless souls for whom Jesus shed his blood. Everything else is just wood, hay, and stubble. May we all be about those issues which have eternal ramifications as “EVERYTHING ELSE MUST GO!”
Blessings always in Jesus name.
Matthew 24:24-28 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Behold, I have told you before.
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
For as the lightening cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.”
II Peter 3:3-7 “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own ungodly lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.
for this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”
July 9, 2009 (1800) Hello again. I’m not certain as to what kind of response this will get, however I thought it to be noteworthy. It’s a report on a newly discovered crop circle in England. While crop circles are a common phenomenon, this one is particularly interesting and it would appear that for those with eyes to see, “the signs are everywhere!” Here’s the link:

  1. “That is to shut out the excess rhetoric and seek the Lord Jesus.” Thank you for this post and that comment in particular. These will take some time to go through, but well worth it. 🙂

Just read this this morning, thought you would enjoy it.

  2. Hi Deb. Thanks for the link. I’ll have to check it out tonight when I have more time to read through it. It is indeed imperative for us to be in the secret place with the Lord as strange times are upon us.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Blessings always in Jesus name.

  3. Hi Timbob,

Although the Bible tells us that no man knows the day nor the hour when the Lord shall return, there are definitely enough end time signs being fulfilled to know that this great event is getting closer and closer. One of the things I mentioned a few weeks ago in a Bible study I was teaching concerns Matthew 24:8. Prior to this verse, Jesus was listing some events that would transpire before his coming such as wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, etc.

Matthew 24:8 says that all these are the beginning of sorrows. That word “sorrows” in the Greek denotes the pangs that accompany childbirth. As a woman gets closer to giving birth those pains become more intense and closer together.

The Amplified Bible says it this way.
All this is but the beginning [the early pains] of the birth pangs [of the intolerable anguish].

As we near the Lord’s coming, these “signs” of which He speaks are becoming more frequent and more intense. There are those who will scoff, just as they did in Noah’s day, but the Lord’s coming in on the calendar, and it is going to happen. May He find us watching for His appearing.

  4. Hi Timbob,

Thanks for sharing these links, there is so very much to ponder amongst a world seemingly gone mad in their blindness to sin. As I see images all around our cities glorifying the abominable, all I can say is “come Lord Jesus, come.”

As the days darken, and the door begins to close, I pray we may never miss an opportunity to usher the last stragglers into His kingdom.

Blessings always to you and yours.

  5. Good morning Carol. The accompanying indicators of the last days that Jesus gave us are not an exact calendar. As you mention, no man knows the day or the hour. (A truth which is further obscured by the fact that our own final moment may well precede the return of Jesus) The signs are just that; evidence that the return of Christ is near. They are important in causing us to be aware of the dangers associated with this time frame and the increasing intensity.

Something is astonishing; and yet it fits the scriptural pattern. For the discerning ones who are looking for Jesus to return, the signs are everywhere in flashing neon form. But for those who love this world, they seem all but invisible as their focus is on the things here and the goings on here. It’s dangerous to be focused on this world in any age; all the more in a time such as ours.

There’s also the danger of the saints allowing their imagination to see signs that are not. This is where I have to be careful. (as is evidenced by the link to the crop circle story.) The primary thing is to be close to the Lord and hear his voice. This is why I’ve been so compelled lately to shut out much of the hype; even from a number of Christian venues. We must be in the secret place if we’re to truly hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. This is a serious topic with a lot of aspects to it. Sadly many in my neck of the woods seem to be overly focused on this world instead of praying “Even so come, Lord Jesus.”

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

  6. Hi five peas. Amen to the call to be about reaching the lost in these final hours. It seems that a spiritual “darkness that can be felt” is descending upon the landscape and time is certainly running out. There are so many in my own circle of acquaintances who are outside the ark of safety and it’s sobering.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Blessings always in Jesus name.
