DIMINISHING OPPORTUNITIES

January 10, 2010
Proverbs 11:30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
Revelation 14:13 “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
The words “And I heard a voice from heaven” place quite a profound emphasis on the above passage of scripture.
How does one adequately grasp the sense of urgency that’s demanded of the hour? How does one effectively communicate to those of a leisurely nature that “time is running out?” How do we discern as to whether or not we ourselves understand the lateness of the hour? We’re quick to proclaim “yes indeed; time is certainly running out. The signs are everywhere!” We say it with the most serious tone of voice that we can muster. “Jesus is returning!” (This is true of course) We study the corresponding scriptures and we rehearse our preferred end-times senario to the point that we can run through the timeline in our sleep. And yet, in many instances, our actions don’t reflect this urgency. (This is more of a self-evaluation than an observation of others) We (or I) follow the path of least resistance, we maintain the integrity of the routine and somehow expect the cycle to keep resetting because it has been doing so for as long as we can remember.
The concept of “time running out” can be hard to fathom; even though we have all seen it transpire in our lives. When we attend a funeral, we are remembering one who once jouneyed through the dimension of time but has now passed into eternity. Ecclesiastes 7:1-3 explains how the passing of a life will cause the living to consider their own situation and its inevitable conclusion. Shortly after getting to work Thursday evening, a thought was dropped into my spirit. “Hell is full of people who thought that they had more time.” It about stopped me in my tracks as this the significance of this began to manifest. It goes without saying that every soul who has ever departed this world without Christ has forever lamented every moment of procrastination. In this life, we may often lament not utilizing earlier years as we should have. (I know that I certainly do) But an everlasting lament is uncomprehendable to us.
While this set the tone for the evening, what transpired after our first break has set in motion a number of things. My work station is a “blessed monotony” in that it offers much time for cogitation. I load and unload gear sets into four machines for processing, which keeps me “walking in a circle” most of the night. (Woo Hoo! lol) This is good, because shortly after retrurning to my work station, I suddenly became stirred in a way so profound that I couldn’t even stand still. The need to “turn it up” insofar as street activity, became overwhelming. I was deeply impressed with the need to go way beyond one-on-one encounters. To begin making signs and to obtain a magaphone. (Fare thee well, oh comfort zone of mine) The imporatnce of making the most of “every available moment” was (and is) profound. Equally profound was the understanding that most who call themselves “Christian” will be quick to point out, just how ineffective these methods of outreach are.
Signs are relatively easy to employ. They can be displayed anywhere and we used them to a small degree in Virginia. Since last summer, nearly every downtown around here has featured a person holding a sign in a marketing capacity; offering to purchase consumer gold. (I’m certain that it’s an orchestrated plan to remove gold from the population) While I’m striving to hear from the Lord on specifics; signs can be very effective seed planters. A few words (not too many words) that force the reader to consider their present state, such as “If you died tonight would you be in heaven or hell?” That’s a question that will make many return visits to a person who is not right with God. In the night; when everyone else is asleep, Holy Spirit gently brings forth the realization that, despite all of their trappings and reputations, they will eventually leave it all behind. The unresolved issue of their eternal destiny becomes manifest. Because in a moment, a persons final breath can pass, ever so silently, through their respitory system. This concentration of atmosphere may neglect to reveal that none of its colleagues will be making subsequent visits.
Street preaching works in much the same way. Seeds are planted; most of which may not be instantly observable. My ventures into the streets over the past years have been primarily “one-on-one encounters with others. I’ve not actually “street preached” since my days in Virginia and I’ve “never” used a megaphone. (Calvin Stringfield, a saint in Philadelphia, used a megaphone routinely back in the 1980s) But of all the cogitations to come forth from the 2 hours that make up our second rotation, the most profound was the sense that “this window is closing.” The time between now and June (of 2010) must be utilized to the utmost. It’s important to note here; that the dividing lines between “thus saith the Lord” and my imagination are not as clear as they should be. As such, it’s imperative to be continually seeking clarity. A brief moment of improper handling can negate years of planting and watering in the heart of another.
At lunch time (8:00 pm) I made a call to CR and told of the evenings transpiration. Here, I learned that CR is also being deeply stirred about such issues. An overwhelming sense that “the only thing that really matters now is be about our Fathers business.” Every other endeavor seems as nothing. Undoubtedly, we are still in the theater of atoms and, as such, must function in a world where time is a monitor of flow and gravity an enforcer of laws. We work, we sleep, (sometimes we sleep. lol) and we embark upon decisions that say to the world “this is what’s dear to my heart.” But as we become increasingly homesick for the age to come, everything that places the worlds cares at center stage leaves us cold. We are truly in this world, but not of it. A city set upon a hill; proclaiming to the passers-by that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” WHAT AN INCREDIBLE SALVATION!
Well I’ll be going for now. This has been a week in which the shortness of time has been a primary cogitation. There’s a new post on the seldom used auxillary blog which does a type of “dry run” through a calamity of epic proportions. None of us kow exactly how long the present situation will hold up, but we should rejoice in every day that the Lord allows; knowing that somewhere in the world, souls will be added to the kingdom. Here’s a link to the other post:
LIFE AFTER-MATH (Please be prepared; this isn’t pleasant)
Also needful are links to katherine Albrechts sites. Katherine follows privacy issues; dealing primarily with RFID chips, big brother, and the coming beast government. Along with all of her normal endeavors, she has a childrens book coming out this summer entitled “I WON’T TAKE THE MARK.” (How often is this talked about in Sunday school?) Kathrine was interviewed last week on Coast to Coast AM. Here are links to her sites:

AUSTRALIAN EDEPT UNVEILED WORLD SATANIC CONTROL Things are not as they appear on the surface and they haven’t been for a long time. This is simply more evidence that points to the lateness of the hour. May we all be sober minded and engaging in works that will follow us into eternity.
JANUARY 11, 2010 Hello again. I just came across the following post. It touches on such an important topic that a link is needed:
THE PATH LESS TRAVELLED. ENCOURAGEMENT FOR THE SOJOURNERS (Watchers on the Wall) This post covers the importance of enduring unto the end. It also discusses the importance of waiting upon the Lords timing and letting go of every weight and sin. A vry timely posting indeed.
Blessings always in Jesus name.

  1. Hi Timbob

I think this is a consistent theme being brought to the forefront in the lives of those whose hearts are fully upon Jesus. Every time I sit quietly in the Lord’s presence, the urgency of the hour is impressed upon me. Truly the Spirit is calling all to redeem the time.

One thing that has been a testimony this week, is that when our flesh rises up against us, this should set alarm bells ringing and cause us to be more determined in what the Lord has placed in our heart to do. The flesh resisting being an assurance that an opportunity is just ahead that will have eternal effects. I had an experience of this very thing – my flesh desiring to delay me, but the Lord revealed this to me and I was able to see the results. An opportunity to witness and a confirmation a few days later that what was planted, was indeed heard and made an impression. Woo hoo!!

Opportunities abound! The Lord is stirring the hearts of those who are stragglers, so thus the fields are ripe! There will be many that will not hear, but those whose hearts are set to be His are but a step away from eternity.

I’m excited about your megaphone! LOL. Excellent!!

Thanks for the links also. “Life After-Math” was very interesting indeed. I think such circumstances will cause our hearts conditions to fully manifest. As Christians, the reality of sharing not only our hope in the Lord, but what little food we have, will certainly prove where our security lies. May we be fully grounded in Him before such events, so that as you say, we will not be tempted to “for one morsel of meat, sell our birthright”.

    Blessings to you all.

  2. Hi Five Peas. I’m almost reminded of being in an airport and one hears the words “final call for flight such and such.” It means that if one doesn’t move quickly to catch the flight, they will be left behind. This urgency is far greater when eternal matters are concerned.

I was planning on heading up to Kalamazoo this morning, but my neice suddenly dropped off her daughter and I’m subequently unable to do so. This also falls in line with cogitations from ast week. That along with the urgency, we would find an increase in obstacles. Nonetheless, the Lord is in control and his timings are perfect. He can open doors and close doors with a word.

A few minutes ago, I added a link to this post entitled “The Road Less traveled. Encouragement for the Sojourners.” One thing discussed is the need for us to go forth in the Lords timing and not ours. It’s something that I must work on. The urgency is so great, and yet, we must be in the Lords timing.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Blessings always in Jesus name.

  3. Hi, Timbob

It’s hard to imagine that this really is “IT”, isn’t it? Only I believe that it really, truly is. Honestly, whatever we may have to walk through, I know God’s grace will be sufficient. And I can’t wait to see Him!

For me, there’s an additional consideration to what you’ve said here (and for you as well, I know, but I wanted to bring it out), and that is the all-important matter of God getting what He wants–which is that perfect bride for Jesus Christ, the temple for the Holy Spirit, the mature sons and daughters for the Father–that is to say, the church.

This is the time, and I believe that He is pulling His people closer to Him and closer to one another, perfecting us in this final hour. May we hear and pay attention and draw near.

    Love, Cindy

  4. Good article, and yes the time is short. I have been pondering why the church has no attraction to the world, why it seems to be invisible. My conclusion: We are powerless, gutless, and morality-less. How can we impact or attract the world if we look just like the world? Yea, I know, not a big revelation there, but that’s the way it is.

You’re on the right track, and I love the megaphone. It’s time to get out from behind four walls, and touch the world. Time to manifest the kingdom of God we are a part of to the world, time to pour fourth His Love to a lost, hurt and hungry world … time to do the stuff!

  5. Oh … My fingers got ahead of my brain … thanks for the ping-back!

  6. Hi Cindy. The times at hand are moving quickly, and yet there remains the perfect peace of God. The trail of our faith is more priceless than gold and the refiners fire will bring us to a place of being the perfect bride for Christ. I pray that we would all draw closer to the Lord in these times and be looking for his appearing. And as you make reference to, this will not only draw us closr to Jesus, it will strengthen the bond with the saints. Citizens of heaven who will be our neighbors in the new Jerusalem. WOO HOO!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Blessings always in Jesus name, to you and all of the saints in the fellowship.

  7. Hi Kevin. The idea of “being like the world to reach them” is one of the things that drives me the nuttiest. And yet it’s seen in almost every venue. We trade power for programs because we can manipulate them into the direction that we think they should go.

As for the megaphone, I don’t have one yet, but am looking. Earlier today I was doubting if I can actually carry through with this; even though it’s so heavily on my heart. Shortly thereafter, the mail came with a letter from Open Doors. Inside were testimonies of what the saints in various muslim countries are going through every day. Suddenly Bronson Park didn’t seem all that hostile.

I need to get beyond the comfort zone and let the Lord Jesus be my comfort zone. Thanks so much for stopping by.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

  8. Timbob . . I got a sense that you believe the mark is a chip? . . . here is a post that I wrote about my thoughts on it – I would like to hear what you think. http://stirringthedeep.com/2009/07/06/the-mark-about-our-minds-not-a-chip/

the world is under the control of Satan and has been. no doubt the government operates under that evil influence continuely – you see it in SO MANY ways . . . but I sense that the mark is about our beliefs.

    Rachel

  9. Hi Timbob, pardon the segue, but you mentioned in passing that there seems to be a sudden rush to buy up gold. I had to think about that one, because I noticed the same thing, too. It was bugging me for a while, until I realized what it was all about. I think it’s an investment against inflation. Investors are anticipating a really bad case of inflation, due to Obama’s plan to print money to pay down the debt. In the past, gold has actually performed rather badly, but if the dollar loses its value, then gold is better than cash in the bank.

  10. Hi Rachel. I now remember this post from last summer and it makes some really solid observations. I personally think that the “mark” will entail some physical element to it,however, the taking of it is definately a spiritual matter. A persons mind who receives this will have rejected the truth and as a result, they’ll be corrupted by flatteries. Daniel 11:32 explains this, but then explains how those who know the Lord will be strong and do exploits. Whatever form this event takes, the saints who are close to the Lord will recognize it for what it is.

Wow! Although I’ve visited the passege from Daniel so many times, however, after reading your comment and revisiting the post, it’s even more astonishing. I’m also reminded of Revelation 12:11; how we overcome by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of our testimony, and by loving not our lives here. That third one; the loving of ones life here, will be the thing that causes people to receive the mark. Again, as you mention, it’s a spiritual choice.

This fosters still another thought. In times past, I wondered if such a thing could be “slipped over the population without many even being aware of it. I no longer think this to be the case. I’m convinced now that those who choose to receive it will know what they are doing, they but will have believed the strong delusions. All of the things that we see manifested right now are preparing people for this event.

This is a really deep subject and in due time we’ll know how it unfolds. The primary thing for us is to be walking close to the Lord. Thanks for taking time to stop by. Blessings always in Jesus name.

    • Timbob – great thoughts . . . the physical follows the spiritual and I think understanding the spiritual helps us to understand the physical correctly. There may very well be a physical mark but it may not be in the form most think – the spirit is unpacking this a bit for me now. I think you are right those who are truly following and seeking instruction from the Spirit will know – thus I doubt the masses will know. And I totally agree – the primary thing is to be walking close to the Lord – the truth is our shield.

      Rachel

  11. Hi Nonaeroterraqueous. (Funny; I always have to bounce back and forth to make sure I spell that correctly) These guys have been out all summer which tells me that somethings up. We know that many people are in a financial bind and will exchange gold in order to pay a bill. It must be profitable to have these guys out there. But the folks doing the buying are the ones who are looking at a bigger picture.

These are very strange times. Thanks for stopping by. Blessings always in Jesus name.

  12. Hi Tim – haven’t been around lately. Was out of the country again, then this earthquake happened in Haiti. Have spent a lot of time there and only returned not even a month ago from Haiti. It’s sad and I haven’t been able to confirm if friends are still alive yet.

Anyways, I listened to David Meyers Wednesday night message and he said that they were finishing up last trumpet for February. It should be posted early. Look for it.

Hope you are well. Will try to catch up this weekend with your posts.

  13. David Meyers also said he was hoping this newsletter would have great impact on its readers. He said it was a bit heavy.

  14. Hi Code. I will be praying for your friends in Haiti. I’m almost certain that our church will be taking up a special collection to be sent toward relief efforts. Events like this are always sorrowful, but for some reason, this one was exceptionally depressing. This nation has experienced so much tragedy over the years.

I’ll definately keep a watch for the newsletter. Earlier tonight I was striving once again to find a way to make it over to Wisconsin for a weekend and visit the church. Things have been so busy and I’m striving to get into the streets as much as possible. The sense of urgency is overwhelming; almost to the point that, if it were possible, I would just spend all day every day sharing the gospel in the streets.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m also remembering the manager and your family in prayer. I often wish that I could just pray all day, every day too. There are so many needs in so many places and battles at every turn. These are serious times, but it also means that the return of Jesus is getting closer by the hour.

It’s always great to hear from you. Blessings always in Jesus name.

  15. Tim, I will send you an email shortly.

  16. Hi Timbob,

We know a guy personally from a neighboring church that uses a megaphone and preaches out on the streets. We were there the night this man first visited our friend’s church and was gloriously filled with the Holy Ghost. He was one of those gangbanger types, and he radically changed. Anyhow, he has preached repentance and baptism in Jesus’ name right in the parking lot of our local Wal-Mart. The church he attends more than doubled in size in a year, and it was largely due to his bold witnessing out on the streets. I know I need to take my witnessing up to another level too, and your post was a reminder of that. Thanks for sharing.

    Blessings,
    Carol

  17. Hi Code. I just read the e-mail. Thanks for the information and I’ll definately be keeping everyone in prayer. I’ll reply when I can.

  18. Hi Carol. Thanbks somuch for this encouraging report. One of the criticisms that people are quick to offer up is “street ministry is not effective.” This testimony reveals otherwise. Without a doubt, the word of God does not return void. We plant, we water, and God gives the increase.

I “really” needed to hear this. Thanks. I’ve been visiting your site, but somehow my comments are vanishing as soon as I hit the “submit” button. I’ve heard of this happening to others, but it’s the first time that I’ve experienced it.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

  19. Hi Rachel. I was reminded of something when I read your comment. A while back, I heard a report about when the plans for a social security number were first introduced into congress. There was in incredible public outcry in opposition to this plan because it looked too much like a “numbering program.” If I remember correctly, the only way to get this program passed was to “promise” that this number would only be used for retirement benefits.

That was to be its only use. Well we see how much a part of our lives the social security number is now. Upon hearing this report, I was astonished to realize how “conditioned” our society has become, in comparison to when this system was first introduced. (back in the 1930s I think. I’m too tired to google it right now. lol) I’m not suggesting that the social security number is the mark, but it represents how suble shiftings can be.

Thanks somuch for your thoughts on this. I pray that others would visit your post concerning this issue. Blessings always in Jesus name.
