It would appear that the season of chaos is concluding. (Kinda…I think) The truck is running well with a new engine, Matthew has been much calmer as of late,  and this morning, we had Hughes net installed at the house. Netscape has been very dependable over the years, but is now a thing of the past. (This is not the reason for the above title. More on that later) August was a month with no trips into the streets and very little internet activity; two venues where I find incredible peace. (Although the peace of God is in every place for those who love him) It was a much needed time of prayer, reflection, and examination. A time of preparation for the battles of this autumn and beyond. Conflicts which may, or may not, appear in the physical, but will play to the determining of eternal desitinations for multitudes.
Over the weekend, I was again reminded of how serious the battle is. While heading into Wal-mart, I noticed a couple of bumper stickers on a truck. One of them read “Witches do it in circles.” The other one featured a wiccan symbol on the left side and contained the word “CLERGY.” These are folks who interact with the forces of darkness on a spiritual/supernatural level, and summon manifestations in the physical realm. I was instantly reminded that our gospel must be presented, not in word only, but with power. Our culture is being systematically programmed to embrace a sinister world view. This can be observed by just taking note of the latest offerings from the (so-called) entertainment industry. The enemy is playing for keeps and a form of godliness will convert nobody. It is the Lord who opens the eyes of the blind and grants repentance to the captives. We simply cannot do this in the flesh.
One of the primary inquiries as of late has been “do we really grasp the seriousness and scope of the battle that’s before us? Do we have even a remote understanding of what’s transpiring all around us?” I’m convinced that none of us do. (I mean “none of us; including myself”) If we did, we would be proclaiming the gospel day and night; even from the housetops. We would be in prayer continually and would not be sidetracked by sideshow issues. Our conversation would continually be the gospel of Jesus Christ to the desired subverting of the hearers. (II Timothy 2:14.) Self-serving ambitions and the lusts thereof, would be unable to compete in an arena of such spiritual awareness.  Our hearts should reside completely in heavenly places, with such love for those in our ambience, that we count it a small thing to compass sea and land on their behalf. Our heart will rejoice in our great God and Savior; the Lord Jesus Christ, and it will break at the consideration of the priceless eternal ones who give no thought to their souls.
Such a one will also be mindful of the times from a prophetic standpoint and will prayerfully consider the bigger picture, which brings us to the title of this post. As of late, CR has submitted a lot of resumes via the internet. We’ve been discussing just how much our daily lives are tied to the world wide web; from financial transactions to applying for employment. Research, entertainment, (much of which is very dark and addicting) placing our proverbial two cents worth in a forum for others to consider, searching for someone that we have lost contact with, and what have you. While there are a plethura of positives, this electronic network provides an incredible mechanism for monitoring and control. Eventually, one will be unable to buy or sell apart from this…..beast? One  can see where it’s all headed and the time will come when we will have to unplug from the matrix. (And we just had a Hughes net dish installed on our house…astonishing) Without a doubt, it will eventually play a significant role in the end times senario; when the Restrainer is removed and the man of sin is permitted to take center stage.
The machinery is in place for continual tracking and it can now be stated that “there’s literally no place to hide.” This is why the following familiar passages of scripture are so very important:
Matthew 16:25 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall save it.”
Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
I know that these verses have been referred to much, but this thing is so imperative that it demands a continual revisiting. In the hour of temptation the very instinct of self-preservation and will be the primary point of assault. The agents of falsehood will argue a very convincing case as to why one should go along with the program. Those in our household who have not believed on the Savior or are loving their lives in this world will try us on a level; that we cannot comprehend in a time of relative stability. (compared to what’s coming, this is stability) “The whole world will wonder after a beast.” Sadly, that crowd will include some folks whom we were very close to during the previous season. May the Lord grant us all enlightenment as to the scope of what’s playing out before us and may our love for Jesus be unwavering.
About four years ago, Pastor Meyer wrote about the dangers of the internet in two subsequent issues of the Last Trumpet Newsletter. They were:
And in keeping with the present, here’s a link to the September 2010 issue, written by samuel D Meyer, entitled:
Well I need to close for now.  The time away from this venue was indeed awesome, however, I missed being in contact with everyone. It was a much needed downtime, however, I required some expensive promptings to enter into it.  The closeness to the Lord Jesus is beyond explaining. A complete peace that fits the scriptural definition of “passing understanding.”
Blessings always in Jesus name.

  1. Hi Timbob,

I find these days that I also have been spending less time on the Internet. Some of it has to do with school starting back up again and needing to spend that time with my son in the morning, working in the afternoon and then coming home in the evening to cook dinner and attend to evening chores. I do agree that none of us fully realize the seriousness of the hour in which we live. Evil men and seducers are waxing worse and worse, as the Bible said would happen in the last days. But among all the sinfulness of this world, there are those that are truly hungry for God, and those are the ones I pray the Lord will help me reach. If that means spending less time blogging or giving it up all together, then so be it. I just want to be sensitive to what God wants. Gotta run for now. I do want to check out the link about the Internet up above.

    Blessings in Jesus’ name,

  2. Hi. So glad to hear that that the storms are passing – though it is through them that we grow the most.

It is my constant prayer to be able to “see” what is really happening in these days. There is so much going on. We are called to seek and trust. The truth is our guard. We need to embrace it, meditate it and have it written on our hearts – the only way we will stand. 2 Thess 2:10 We can fully trust God as our Good Shepherd to guide, lead, and protect us as is needed.

  3. Hi bro
    Thanks for the insightful post.
This is spiritual, and it is warfare!
    Bless you and yours!

  4. Hi Carol. You summed up the times in which we live perfectly. Many of us are becomming increasingly busy. In our case Megan is soon to graduate, Morgan is soon to be married, and Matthews needs continue to mount. (He can complrtely overpower me now)not to mention financial complexities and the business of the daily agenda.

And while all of this is taking place, souls are perishing and wickedness is increasing. Last week, a thirteen year old girl was raped just a few miles from here. It’s unthinkable, and yet such atrocities are on the rise. Earlier tonight I was thinking about this when II Thessalonians 2:7 came top mind. If it’s this bad now, what will it be like when the Restrainer is taken away?

And yet, as you mention, there are still some who are seeking the Lord and pondering the question “what must I do to be saved?” It’s imperative that we be in the Lords will and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. I sometimes think of the seriousness of being entrusted with the words of life and the responsibility is almost overwhelming. We truly cannot do this in our own power or wisdom.

Thanks so much for stopping by. It’s great to hear your insights.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

  5. Hi Rachel. To seek the Lord continually and take no thought for tomorrow. I liked what I read on your blog earlier. Words to the effect that everything flows from our first seeking the Lord. It’s interesting whenever I hear discussions of the times and the events unfolding, they enhance my desire to get away from the noise and seek the Lord. Not bury my head in the sand; just be in a place to hear what the Spirit is saying. And in times like these we must be in such a place as the great falling away may well carry with it folks that we looked up to. (pastors, teachers, brethren who seemed steady as the seasons, etc)

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for continually encouraging us to get in close to Jesus. He is our peace, our strong tower, and our high priest forever.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.

  6. Hi Richard. It’s spiritual warfare in the first magnitude and the intensity is growing. May we all be atuned to the Spirit in these unusual times.

    Blessings always in Jesus name.
